youth in Mission

Our youth are regularly involved in mission in our local community.

We participate each week in leading Wednesday Church for the students of Oak Hill Elementary School. We engage in various collections, raising money for missions, hands-on projects, and building relationships with our neighbors. We also participate in Mission Morganton each year doing projects in the community.

We especially enjoy serving with children, with Burke County Friends for Animals, and helping with The Meeting Place Homeless Shelter's "Give Cheese A Chance" competition.

We also lead a week-long Vacation Bible School with the children who attend Oak Hill Elementary School's summer camp.

The youth go on a week-long mission trip each summer.

Over the past several years, they have been to Fort Lauderdale, FL; Pensacola, FL; Toronto, Canada; Daytona Beach, FL; Atlanta, GA; Charleston, SC; Newport, TN; WARM Program at Camp White Lake; and Camp Tekoa Foothills.

Our mission trips are one way of embodying the love of Christ as we seek to know and love our neighbor as Christ taught us.
